JOINING THE SCHEME
The MRC Pension Scheme will continue to be open to future pension provision and new members under UKRI.
With effect from 1 April 2018, only staff recruited to the following MRC institutes are eligible to join:
- Cambridge (LMB)
- London (LMS)
- Oxford (Harwell)
- Staff recruited to work at these supporting units
- New NC3Rs
New joiners to the Scheme will have their benefits based on a Career Average basis, rather than final salary. The normal pension age is the same as the State Pension Age. This is to comply with the requirements of public service pension reform, which applies to MRC and UKRI.
